Top Ten Property Specialists: Anna Clare Harper

Anna is an entrepreneur, property investor, podcast host and author. She recently took on the role of Chief Executive Officer of SPI Capital, an algorithm-driven property asset manager that creates hands-free residential portfolios for busy investors who love the idea of property but lack the time, knowledge or inclination to invest successfully on their own.

Bringing together a highly qualified team, technology and systems, SPI Capital is working to achieve its mission: to deliver attractive, sustainable returns to its investors across £250m of UK housing, while providing much-needed homes for the UK and its key workers.

Anna was named one of Bisnow’s ‘Women Leading Real Estate’.

She published Amazon Best Seller, ‘Strategic Property Investing: What works and what doesn’t in a complex UK residential property market’, a book about what has changed in the residential property market, and how investors can navigate this increasingly complex environment.

The book drew on her career to date, which has focused on developing strategies and enabling High Net Worth Individuals to easily diversify into residential property – typically through acquiring non-prime buildings and portfolios worth <£5m, SPI Capital’s sweetspot.

Most recently, she developed the strategy and built the seed portfolio for a HNWI-backed fund targeting a £100m+ housing portfolio.

Prior to this, she was involved with £2bn+ transactions as a Strategy Consultant at Deloitte, working with major global Financial Services and Private Equity clients. She got started in the real estate sector through studying Land Economy at Cambridge.

Her vision – explored in a recent TedX talk  – is to open up opportunities to invest in a way that is profitable and sustainable, whilst helping to reduce inequalities of opportunity in housing, in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goal of reduced inequalities.

Anna hosts a leading property podcast, The Return: Property & Investment Podcast , and is regularly quoted in leading publications including the Financial Times, BBC and Forbes.
