The individual women selected are outstanding property professionals who have either mentored others, changed the industry for the better through their individual effort or innovated and introduced a new property-related product offering that has brought real value to customers lives or businesses.
Peta Stewart
Award-winning conveyancer. Entrepreneur. Business mentor. Women’s cycling advocate. These are just some of the ways Peta Stewart is introduced. What ties them together is a steely determination to help people achieve their life goals and have fun in the process.
Like most personality traits, Peta’s ambition, resilience and strong work ethic can be traced back to childhood. Peta was adopted out of foster care at the age of eight by parents who taught her the value of working hard and grabbing opportunities with both hands. When Peta succeeded in the classroom and on the sports field, she stopped comparing herself to the kids who’d had a more conventional start to life. She became more and more determined to make something of herself.
Peta blames Tom Cruise for her foray into law. After watching ‘The Firm’ at the age of 15, she decided to become a lawyer. It took two years at a law firm to realise that she needed more freedom to innovate, influence and be her true self. Peta switched her studies, started working in property conveyancing and never looked back. Trusting her gut has always served Peta well.
In 2004, Peta became the first licensed conveyancer in the Albury Wodonga greater region.
Five years later, she launched her own business and started shaking up the industry with a good dose of personality, integrity and humanity.
Peta Stewart Property Conveyancers was founded in 2009 with one objective – to redefine the conveyancing industry with a fresh and personal approach.
Over the years, Peta has received a fair few awards but nothing compares to the satisfaction she experiences when her clients realise their dream of buying a home – a safe haven where they can make memories with the people they love most. Peta is grateful every day for the rock star team she has built and the aspirations they help realise. Along the way, she has learned that no matter what obstacles stand in your way, if you persevere and stay true to your values, you’ll always come out on top.
When Peta is not finding new ways to up the ante at work, you’ll find her cycling, enjoying a Gold Class movie, hanging out with her husband, stepkids and BFF (Gizmo, the rescue dog), or supporting various community sporting organisations across Albury Wodonga.
